- SOURCE will provide information about our JHU Schools, including skills, competencies, schedules, and descriptions of academic programs
- Access to Hopkins Engage, the University's online community engagement platform
- Listing your organization in our online searchable Directory of Partnering CBOs
- Inclusion in our Interactive Partner Map, which shows where our partnering CBOs are located throughout Baltimore. The map includes the option to share a short introductory video about your organization

Community Involvement Fair to introduce our JHU students, faculty and staff to our community partners.
Be sure to explore our specific examples for collaborating throughout our Opportunities Guide including, One-Time and Short-Term Projects, Ongoing and Long-Term Projects, and Service-Learning Courses.
Then, submit your annual Opportunities Checklist to let us know which opportunities your organization is interested in exploring this academic year.
Professional Development Opportunities
SOURCE works to deeply engage with our community partners. Our center offers meaningful professional development and engagement opportunities for our partners, including a few examples below:
SOURCE Online Preceptor Training Module
To prepare new and returning preceptors to collaborate with our graduate students, SOURCE offers an Online SOURCE Preceptor Training Module. Many of our courses and academic-based projects require community preceptors to complete the online module. The module includes information about partnering with SOURCE, as well as tips and resources on best practices of supervising graduate students.
SOURCE Service-Learning Academy
Our SOURCE Service-Learning Academy is a one-year, cohort-based program which trains faculty and community leaders together in service-learning pedagogy. While faculty learn to incorporate service-learning into their classes, community fellows learn how to tap into course-based service-learning opportunities to meet their organizational priorities. The cohort-based training model is a great way to build community among faculty and community partners.
SOURCE Service-Learning Community Fellows benefit from a $1,750 award. Fellows are required to participate in a 2-day in-person seminar in June, attend meetings, and collaborate with a JHU faculty in at least one service-learning course.
SOURCE Community Council
SOURCE’s Community Council is an integral component to SOURCE’s leadership committees. Council members serve in an advisory role to SOURCE, help set the future direction of the center, spread the word about the center, and participate in advocacy efforts. Serving on the council is an excellent way to learn more about the wide range of services and recruitment efforts offered through SOURCE.
Council members serve a 3-year term, meeting quarterly throughout the academic year (Sept-May). Meals are provided during all in-person meetings, and the council takes turns meeting at different CBOs. Council members are eligible to be paid $50 per meeting to honor their participation.

Important Note Regarding Clinical Care
Due to state laws and university policy, students are unable to offer ANY medical or clinical services to CBOs unless the students are under the direct supervision of a JHU SON or SOM faculty member. Therefore, our students are unable to take blood pressures, give flu shots, administer medications, etc. at health fairs and other locations, unless they are accompanied by a JHU SON or SOM faculty. We need at least 1 month notice of community events in order to recruit both faculty and students to assist with health fairs. Additionally, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to fulfill requests for clinical volunteers.
