HIV Counseling & Testing Program

Each year, our JHU graduate health professional students are competitively selected to participate in our HIV Counseling and Testing Program. Selected students are trained to become certified HIV Counselors in the state of Maryland.

Once trained, our student volunteers are required to volunteer for 2-4 shifts per month at one of our participating community sites. Student volunteers also participate in quarterly discussion groups and reflection activities. Community sites make their own arrangements for necessary testing processes and supplies. SOURCE coordinates the trained volunteer pool for community sites.
