National Resources

The Corporation for National and Community Service is the federal agency which houses Americorps and Learn and Serve America.  The Corporation provides support to volunteer organizations through grants, training, and technical assistance. http://www.nationalservice.gov/

Learn and Serve America provides support to higher education institutions, community groups, and K-12 schools who facilitate service learning programs and projects.  The site has information on funding resources, service learning curriculum, and more. http://www.learnandserve.org/

Americorps allows you to “put your ideals into action.”  Through year long service opportunities, participants can earn money to pay for tuition or toward student loans. http://www.americorps.gov/Default.asp

Campus Compact offers a wealth of resources for those interested in linking community service, service learning, and civic engagement to higher education.  The site has information about funding and national volunteering opportunities as well as resources for building a service learning program. http://www.compact.org/

The Chronicle of Philanthropy is an in-print and online journal providing the most recent news and resources for those in the nonprofit sector.  Many sections of the site are open to all, but some areas are for subscribers only. http://philanthropy.com/
