SOURCE will be hiring several students to support our programs in 2025-2026. All applicants must be eligible for Federal Work-Study, and enrolled full-time at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health or the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. Eligible applicants should have a FWS Employment Authorization Form (available through the student’s SIS account or Financial Aid Office). Program Assistants are expected to work 6 to 8 hours per week throughout 2025-2026 (ending in May 2026), and to fully participate in SOURCE Student Governing Board committee meeting(s) and activities.

Operations Program Assistant
The SOURCE Operations Program Assistant will work directly with the Administrative Coordinator to support SOURCE behind-the-scene operations. Activities will include:
- Assisting with maintenance of records regarding SOURCE’s large network of partnering community-based organizations (CBOs) in Baltimore City (including database, team notifications, and other records).
- Tracking participation of SOURCE Student Governing Board (SGB) members (including gathering SGB availability each term and keeping current records).
- Supporting CBOs in utilizing Hopkins Engage (HE), the university’s online community engagement platform
- Assist SOURCE team with HE activities, including setting up sub-groups, tracking and verifying activities, submitting events through the system
- Supporting the CBO application process for SOURCE partnership, including tracking and scheduling
- Assisting with major SOURCE special events to support the team with logistical needs
- Must participate fully as a member of SOURCE's Governing Board.
Job Qualifications:
- Experience and comfort communicating with diverse populations, including collaborating with community partners
- Ability to work collaboratively with others
- Manage multiple priorities effectively and possess the ability to work independently
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, etc.)
- Strong technological skills, including ability to learn how to use Hopkins Engage
- Basic data analysis skills and Qualtrics skills are a plus

Service-Learning Research Assistant
SOURCE seeks a Service-Learning Research Assistant who will support elements of our national Service-Learning Academy through outreach, communication strategizing, and data analysis. The SL RA will also review, organize, and analyze information for various SOURCE research projects around community engagement, social justice, and education. This may include literature reviews, data management, and research writing related to service-learning, civic engagement, faculty development, social determinants of health, and other areas to be determined. Skills in qualitative and/or quantitative analysis are a plus.

Social Justice & Reflection Programs Assistant
SOURCE is seeking a student leader who can take on the role of furthering social justice orientation for health professional students through reflection-centered programming and events.
Purpose of Job: The SOURCE Social Justice & Reflection Program Assistant (SJR) will provide support and guidance to the SOURCE social justice and critical reflection programming, events, social media, and strategic collaboration efforts. While the position is a program assistant position, the role will also involve data tracking, best practice literature reviews in addition to providing organizational support and facilitation for key skill training. All SOURCE Program Assistants are expected to fully participate with the SOURCE Student Governing Board committee meeting(s) and activities. This position will support and coordinate the Reflection Leaders sub-committee of the Governing Board.
Description of Duties:
Process management
- Assist in designing, managing logistics for and implementation of social justice events and program series
- Support the design and coordination of key trainings, resources, and workshops
- Manage event registration, post event surveys, and quality improvement process through Qualtrics and Hopkins Engage tools.
- Support the recruitment, training and of management of Critical Reflection Leaders
Program administration
- Coordinate and support student leaders in their social justice orientation, including but not limited to awareness building of structural racism and oppressive systems, critical consciousness development, and collective action and accountability measures.
- Identify resources and tools to support SOURCE Social Justice & Reflection Programs
- Lead and design implementation plan for quality improvements
- Provide support for trainings of SOURCE Social Justice & Refection Programs including enhancing learning tools and evaluating learning outcomes
- Plan, facilitate and evaluate effectiveness of reflection sessions for student volunteers
- Facilitate discussions for student participants on relevant topics to further engage them in conversation
Communications & marketing
- Develop and organize content on SOURCE Social Justice & Reflection programming to be shared via various marketing tools
- Assist with general media and marketing of SOURCE Social Justice & Reflection Programs
- There will be additional opportunities to get involved in other SOURCE activities based on interest, skills, and experience.
Job Qualifications:
- Interest in community-based public health, experience in peer facilitation and justice-oriented work
- Experience and/or interest working with diverse communities
- Ability to work collaboratively with others while connecting with various student leaders and/or community members
- Manage multiple priorities effectively and possess the ability to work independently
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products (i.e. Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc)
- Experience in public health practice and/or community-based public health, preferred
- Basic data analysis and Qualtrics skills are a plus.

SOURCE Service Scholars Program Assistant
SOURCE is seeking a student leader who can take on the role of administrative lead for the SSS program.
Purpose of Job: The SOURCE Service Scholar (SSS) Program Assistant will provide support and guidance to the SOURCE Service Scholars Program. While the position is a program assistant position, the SOURCE Service Scholars program will also require duties similar as a teaching assistant position. All SOURCE Program Assistants are expected to fully participate in the SOURCE Student Governing Board committee meeting(s) and activities.
Description of Duties:
Program administration
- Coordinate and support student leaders of the SOURCE Service Scholar Program
- Update student participants about upcoming due dates, assignments, events, or opportunities that might interest them (grants, lectures, trainings)
- Manage the hours reporting via Hopkins Engage platform
- Track fund request and processing for student stipends
- Lead and design implementation plan for quality improvements to the program and the learning management system
- Identify resources and tools to support students’ development through the SSS Program and as well as modify the program administrative process for future FWS
Teaching assistant
- Provide support for training of SOURCE Programs including enhancing learning tools and evaluating learning outcomes and attend all scheduled SSS academy sessions
- Track completion of assignments and follow-up with any missing assignments
- Read through and provide feedback on assignments for students
- Facilitate online discussion for student participants on relevant topics to further engage them in conversation
- Serve as additional team member who can meet with students every term to reflect on their project progress with them
- Update and curate the SOURCE Service Scholars group dashboard page in Hopkins Engage.
- Support SSS students and their volunteers in reporting service activities
- Plan, facilitate and evaluate effectiveness of reflection sessions for student volunteers
Process management
- Assist in recruitment of student participants
- Manage updating and implementing the application system (Qualtrics), process, and matching of projects and scholars for SSS application phase(s)
- Design a process for managing mutable elements of the program based on a rolling process, procedure, communication, and quality improvement calendar
Communications & marketing
- Support and assist communications with partnering CBO Preceptors
- Work with the Communications and Event Manager to build visibility for the program
- Develop and organize content on SSS program to be shared via various marketing tools
- Assist with general media and marketing of the SSS program
Job Qualifications:
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products (i.e. Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
- Interest in community-based public health, experience managing volunteers
- Experience and/or interest working with diverse communities
- Ability to work collaboratively with others while connecting with various student leaders and/or community members

- Experience as a teaching assistant or in the field of education
