Continuing to Grow- Updates on our SOURCE Expansion
At the beginning of this year, the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing doubled their investment in SOURCE. Because of this additional financial support, our small team which does a great deal to support students, faculty, staff, and more than 100 community-based organizations, can now expand and do more.
Over the course of our strategic planning process, we outlined areas for expansion, and identified initial areas for growth as a result of increased funding. Our first step was to establish and hire a brand new position to grow our team and build our capacity. Later this summer, we will be welcoming our brand new Assistant Director for Academic Service-Learning! Our new Assistant Director will increase our capacity to reach students in academic courses, student organizations, and to expand our social justice focused programming for students.
With the addition of a brand new staff member and the possibility of further expansion on the horizon, our staff outgrew the space available at our E. Monument Street row house. On June 1, 2016, our entire team relocated down the street to the main Bloomberg School of Public Health building, Suite W1600.
We will continue to serve our students, faculty, staff, and community-based organizations and look forward to working with our Governing Board, Community Council, and stakeholders to continue our planning and visioning for SOURCE!
